If you have commissioned us with your removal, then we are liable in such cases according to §451 of the German Commercial Code. This liability is free for you as our client.

The maximum amount of liability is calculated according to the volume of the goods being transported and stands at 620 Euros per cubic meter; i.e. a removal of goods totaling 60 cubic meters is insured in the amount of 37,200 Euros.

If we could not avoid the damages despite having exercised due care, then the liability does not take effect ("inevitable event", i.e. force majeure). You can insure yourself against this risk by taking out an additional transport insurance policy. In this case, you should be guided by the amount on your household insurance.

It looks different in the case of the Do-It-Yourself Removal: There is no liability on the part of another party if mistakes are committed; you yourself are responsible for any resultant damages.

Consequently, even in the case of the Do-It-Yourself Removal, it can ultimately be cheaper to hand over your particularly valuable items, including works of art and antiques or valuable electronic equipment, to our competent coworkers and to take out a suitable transport insurance policy.
